Video: Going Green and the Guest Experience

On Oct. 1-3, Lodging Media hosted the inaugural Lodging Green and Sustainability Conference at the LEED Gold-Certified Omni Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas. The three-day event brought thought leaders, industry experts, and hotel executives together to share how implementing green practices and iniatives can save money and increase guest satisfaction while benefiting the environment.

During the conference, we pulled aside experts to ask them how implementing sustainable solutions and practices impact the guest experience. Although many guests won’t sacrifice comfort or price to book a green hotel, most travelers—especially younger, millennial travelers—expect hotels to have green, eco-friendly programs in place. Green practices are also becoming more important to corporate clients and meeting planners, as more hotels continue to see questions about going green on requests for proposals (RFPs).
