The Related Group and SBE Unveil New Lifestyle Brand

MIAMI—The Related Group, a builder of luxury condominiums and multifamily residences, and SBE, a hospitality, lifestyle, and real estate development company, announce the launch of Hyde Hotels, Resorts and Residences brand, with its flagship locations in Midtown Miami and Hollywood Beach, Fla. This marks the first of SBE’s brands to evolve from nightlife into hotels and residences.

The design philosophy of Hyde Hotels, Resorts and Residences is rooted in a desire to strike a balance between innovation and functionality. Technology and aesthetics are joined, empowering guests to scale their experience by customizing everything from interactions with property staff to personalized in-room and on-property amenities.

“The Hyde brand has always been defined by its connectivity to music, fashion, art, and socializing, where luxury is not about pretense or posturing but rather authentic style with a commitment to facilitating distinct lifestyle experiences,” said Sam Nazarian, founder, chairman, and CEO of SBE. “Past collaborations with Related show that they understand how the Hyde Hotels, Resorts and Residences brand can fill a major void in the marketplace and can adapt to an array of global communities.”

Hyde Hotel and Residences Midtown Miami will include 80 hotel rooms and 400 luxury condominiums. Arquitectonica designed the building and David Rockwell will finish the interiors with tech-minded, culturally fluent young professionals in mind. Hyde Midtown will also feature chic food and beverage outlets, a pool and expansive deck, spa and fitness center facilities, and meeting and event spaces. The project is slated to open in 2016.

“We purchased the Midtown site because we recognized the need for a boutique hotel to serve businesses and travelers who wanted to be near the top-end retailers of the Design District and the Wynwood art scene but within easy reach of Brickell and South Beach. After the sell-out success with SBE at SLS Hotel and Residences Brickell, we decided to launch the Hyde Hotel brand, with Hyde Midtown and Hyde Hollywood, bringing the brand to two booming neighborhoods,” said Jorge Pérez, chairman and CEO of The Related Group. “The hotel and its restaurants will provide personalized services and amenities to the 400 Hyde Midtown Residences, uniquely curated for our urban clientele.”

Hyde Resort and Residences Hollywood Beach is a 40-story beachfront tower with 40 condominium residences and 367 condo hotel units, also scheduled to be completed in 2016. The property will give owners and guests access to a posh beach club with private cabanas. Cohen, Freedman, Encinosa and Associates will be the architect for the project.

In addition to Miami, SBE and Related are currently eyeing locations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia, and other gateway markets for expansion of the Hyde Hotels, Resorts and Residences brand.
