The Redbury South Beach to Debut in Miami

MIAMI—SBE, a real estate, hospitality and entertainment company announced plans to launch The Redbury Hotel South Beach. The partnership heralds the first hotel collaboration between hospitality industry innovators, Sam Nazarian, founder, chairman and CEO of SBE, and restaurateurs/developers Larry Levy and Bob Heyat.

Located on Collins Ave. and 18th, The Redbury South Beach represents the encore to the Redbury Hotel at Hollywood and Vine in Los Angels, Calif. Formerly the Fairfax Hotel, re-development on The Redbury South Beach will be completed by early fall of 2013, with a design inspired by its Hollywood roots, yet adapted to capture the art deco aesthetic of South Beach. Once complete, The Redbury South Beach will feature 69 rooms and suites. SBE Hotel Group will operate the hotel while Levy Restaurants will oversee food and beverage for the lobby level restaurant, Lorenzo. There will also be a 12,000-square-foot rooftop pool and event space with food and beverage service. Situated across the street from SBE’s SLS Hotel and The Raleigh, The Redbury’s guests will have exclusive access to both properties’ amenities, including beach and pool access and access to the spa and Privé Salon.

“Larry and I share a love for South Beach and we believe The Redbury brand closely connects with the energy and culture of the area,” said Nazarian. “Advancing SBE’s relationship with one of my mentors, Larry, along with his Levy Restaurants, is an incredible opportunity that will position The Redbury for sustained success. Leveraging our shared expertise across real estate development, top-notch hospitality service and overall brand experience will enable us to create a product that resonates powerfully with both the local and global South Beach communities.”

The launch of The Redbury South Beach underscores sbe’s recent growth in the Miami area over the past 18 months. In addition to The Redbury, sbe has recently opened the SLS Hotel South Beach, Hyde Lounge AmericanAirlines Arena, acquired the iconic Raleigh Hotel, and opened the first East Coast outpost of Umami Burger. In addition to Lorenzo, guests of The Redbury will have access to sbe’s award-winning food and beverage offerings including The Bazaar by José Andrés, Katsuya by Starck, Hyde Beach and Restaurant Michael Schwartz at The Raleigh

“SBE is deeply committed to Miami and to the historic art deco architecture of South Beach,” added Arash Azarbarzin, President SBE Hotel Group. “We’re applying the same thoughtful and collaborative approach to adaptive reuse we employed at SLS South Beach to Redbury, and are creating a property the entire community can be proud of and make their own. Ultimately, the goal is to once again make the block between 17th and 18th South Beach’s center of energy and with SLS and now Redbury we’re doing just that.”
