Shaner Hotels to Operate New Courtyard by Marriott in Glassboro, N.J.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa.—Shaner Hotels will operate the new Marriott Courtyard Hotel and Conference Center in the Rowan Boulevard revitalization project in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Rowan Boulevard encompasses over $300 million in public and private investment and is the direct result of the partnership that evolved among the borough of Glassboro, New Jersey, Rowan University and the developer, Kinsley Equities. The hotel project is being developed by Kinsley Equities—which will lead the construction and development team with its affiliate Kinsley Construction— and Thomas Fore, founder and director of Sora Development.

Scheduled to open in Fall 2013, the hotel will be operated by Shaner Hotels, based out of State College, Pa. Shaner operates several other hotel properties across the country on university campuses. “We’re excited to grow our university related hotel portfolio,” said Plato Ghinos, president of Shaner Hotels. “Over the years, we have established a record of accomplishment in operating hotels and working closely with universities.”

The Courtyard by Marriott will offer 129 rooms, including eight suites, an adjoining 6,000 square foot restaurant, and a first floor conference center with over 4,100 square feet in meeting space. Other amenities will include a fitness center, indoor pool, guest laundry, business center, and The MarketTM, a 24/7 shop for snacks and beverages.

Shaner Hotels is a developer/owner/operator that currently owns and manages more than 37 hotels.
