No stranger to the Maldives, Dietmar is known for his passion, creativity, and enthusiasm in the hospitality industry. “After spending more than 30 years in the Asia Pacific region, I can truly say that every aspect of the Maldives astounds me and that every traveler should experience the warmth and beauty at least once in their life,” Dietmar explains. “I am very proud to be part of such a visionary team that dares to be different at every turn here at Niyama.”

Born and raised in Ingolstadt, Germany, a graduate of Cornell University and Insead University, Dietmar started his career path in hospitality in food and beverage with Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts, working in Asia including in Thailand and Sri Lanka and in a number of island properties in the Maldives and the Seychelles. He returned to the Maldives in 2009 in the role of general manager at Anantara Kihavah Villas, where he spearheaded the successful opening and ongoing operation of one of Anantara’s flagship resorts.

“Dietmar’s boundless energy, enthusiasm, and understanding of guest experience and the destination perfectly complements Per AQUUM’s core brand emphasis in creating bold, imaginative spaces and signature attention to detail,” said Nicholas Downing, vice president of Per AQUUM. “I am excited about Dietmar’s contribution to further enhance our guest experience with a hospitality brand that dares to be different.”
