NYLO Hotels Breaks Ground on NYLO Nyack

DALLAS—NYLO Hotels, the Dallas-based lifestyle hotel chain, has broken ground on its sixth hotel location in Nyack, N.Y.

NYLO Nyack will be the boutique brand’s second New York property, located in the heart of the Hudson River Valley about 25 minutes north of New York City. The hotel is slated to open in summer 2015.

The 132-room hotel will be housed in a four-story former factory—a space perfectly suited for showcasing the urban, industrial style that is the prototype of the NYLO brand. NYLO Nyack will be Rockland County’s first loft-style boutique hotel and will be located within walking distance of Nyack’s restaurants, shops, and art galleries.

“We are so excited to have NYLO Hotels join the wonderful Nyack community,” said Mayor Jen White. “We welcome them with open arms and we look forward to introducing NYLO’s guests to not just the beautiful new hotel but to all that Nyack has to offer from our charming shops and restaurants to historical landmarks, incredible scenery, and our friendly and creative residents.”

NYLO Nyack features will include a 184-seat full-service restaurant and a 58-seat bar and lounge with indoor and outdoor seating; a recreational bathing pool, fitness center, library, and game room; a business center and lobby lounge; 4,000 square feet of meeting rooms, including a 2,500-square-foot ballroom; and a music studio with a live broadcast radio booth. As with all NYLO properties, NYLO Nyack will spotlight original artwork from local artists.

The guestrooms at NYLO Nyack will maintain the industrial loft-style design that distinguishes the NYLO brand. Many of the guestrooms will offer views of the Hudson River, and all of the rooms will feature NYLO’s NYTE mattress, luxury linens and towels, and custom-designed furniture.

The project developers for NYLO Nyack are Michael Yanko and Kerry Wellington, principals of WY Management, a boutique development house headquartered in Nyack, N.Y. WY’s past projects include the Ink48 and Pod39 hotels. Joseph Siegel and Hans Erdenberger, principals at Environetics Group Architects PC, are the architects for the 82,000-square-foot project.

The creative force behind NYLO Nyack is Glen Coben of Glen & Co., an architectural and interior design firm based in New York City. Glen & Co.’s hotel projects include Archer New York, The Adelphi Hotel, Fashion 26 Hotel, TRYP Times Square South NYC, Madison Beach Hotel, Flatotel, the Pearl Street Hotel Lobby, and Edison Ballroom.

“Our newest NYLO hotel in Nyack, N.Y., will showcase NYLO’s unique cutting edge design, complete with a local flair to fit the charming and artistic flair of Nyack,” said Mike Mueller, president and CEO of NYLO Hotels. “We are thrilled to expand the NYLO footprint into Nyack as the city’s first boutique hotel, and look forward to introducing guests and local residents to the quintessential NYLO experience.”

NYLO Nyack will be NYLO’s sixth hotel, following properties in Texas, Rhode Island, and New York City.
