Lake Geneva CVB Announces Hospitality Award Recipients

The Lake Geneva Area Convention and Visitors Bureau announced The Abbey Resort and its general manager, David Lindelow, as the recipients of 2014 Hospitality Award, to be given out at their annual awards banquet. The award honors an individual, organization, or business that positively impacted tourism in the Lake Geneva area.

“For the past seven years, David has served as the general manager of the Abbey Resort and Avani Spa. In this role he [led the resort] through a series of improvements, including the property’s recent 50 million dollar renovation,” said Tammie Carstensen, board chairman of the Lake Geneva Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “David’s passion for the hospitality industry extends beyond the Abbey, as demonstrated by his commitment to increasing the marketing dollars available to promote the Lake Geneva area.”

Seasoned hospitality executive Lindelow has over 30 years of experience in leading hotel and resort properties.

“As a result of his leadership, the Village of Fontana began investing room tax revenue into the marketing efforts of the Lake Geneva Area Convention & Visitors Bureau,” said Carstensesn. “As a member of the CVB board of directors, David continues to advocate for additional investment by all communities into destination marketing.”
