InterContinental Hotels and Resorts Growing in Europe

InterContinental Hotels Group has signed two InterContinental Hotels in Europe: the InterContinental Dublin in Ireland and the InterContinental Baku in Azerbaijan.

From Jan. 1, 2015, InterContinental Dublin will operate under a franchise agreement with Ballsbridge Hotel Limited, an affiliate of London & Regional Properties. It will be located in the former Four Seasons Hotel Dublin, one of Ireland’s top-rated hotels.

Situated in Dublin’s prestigious neighborhood Ballsbridge, the hotel features 197 guestrooms inclusive of 58 suites, an indoor swimming pool, spa and fitness center, two restaurants, and two bars. It also boasts impressive meeting and event space with two ballrooms totaling more than 15,000 square feet (over 1,400 square meters). The hotel is situated close to the city’s shopping district and the head offices of many of Ireland’s largest multi-national companies.

Meanwhile InterContinental Baku, due to open in 2016, will operate under a franchise agreement with AZ-ORS LLC. The hotel will be managed by The Ceylan Group, owners and managers of the InterContinental Istanbul, Turkey.

InterContinental Baku will be located in the heart of the Azerbaijani capital’s shopping and leisure district on BulBul Avenue and Zarifa Aliyeva Street, near the famous seaside promenade Baku Boulevard. The hotel will have an indoor swimming pool, a lobby bar, an all-day dining restaurant, club lounge, a spa and fitness center, and a valet car service for guests.

“We are thrilled to have signed two flagship InterContinental hotels in two important markets; and both properties are going to be fantastic additions to our portfolio,” stated Robert Shepherd, chief development officer, Europe, IHG.
