CHICAGO—Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced today the opening of Hyatt Regency Chongqing, introducing the Hyatt Regency brand to the city in Southwest China.
Located in the middle of the shopping area of Bei Cheng Tian Jie (known as ‘Paradise Walk’), Hyatt Regency Chongqing is part of a new mixed-use commercial development combining high-end offices, luxury shopping, and various dining and entertainment experiences.
In an announcement, Larry Tchou, managing director, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts – Asia Pacific said, “The strategic move to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to the metropolis of Chongqing is another milestone in Hyatt’s development in China. Hyatt Regency Chongqing features 321 guestrooms and suites that include marble bathrooms with separate baths and rain showers.
Regency Club accommodation is located on exclusive floors with access to the private Regency Club Lounge, where guests can enjoy the personal services and exclusive benefits of complimentary continental breakfast, all-day refreshments, evening cocktails and canapés.
On-property dining includes Market Cafe, an all-day dining buffet restaurant featuring four interactive kitchens and a beverage bar; a signature Chinese restaurant, Yu Yue, which serves authentic Sichuan cuisine; a Tea Lounge which is a casual lounge located on the lobby level, serving a selection of teas, coffee, and fresh juices; and the patisserie, Mi Yue, offering freshly baked breads, cookies, cakes, chocolates and a wide range of French pastries.
The Heng Spa at Hyatt Regency Chongqing features ten spa suites and as well as separate foot massage rooms. The hotel also offers a fitness center with a dedicated team of personal trainers and a 25-meter indoor pool.
The Hyatt Regency Chongqing also offers a total of more than 20,100 square feet of flexible function space with a pillar-less 8,300-square-foot Regency Ballroom with a 26-foot high ceiling which can host up to 450 guests for banquets and 670 for cocktail receptions. The Beicheng Ballroom, measuring 3,900 square feet can be divided into two separate rooms. Eight additional multi-purpose venues, ranging from 581 to 1,292 square feet, can accommodate meetings and events of various sizes.
All venues are equipped with the video and telephone-conferencing facilities and wired with high-speed broadband and wireless Internet access.
