Hilton Matching Donations to Support Philippines Recovery

MCLEAN, Va.—In response to Super Typhoon Haiyan that devastated the central islands of the Philippines, Hilton Worldwide has set up a disaster relief matching program for Team Members and Hilton HHonors members to support recovery efforts. Now through Dec. 31, donations made at GlobalGiving.org/hhonors will be matched by the company, dollar-for-dollar, up to $150,000. In addition, for every $1 donated, Hilton HHonors members will receive 10 HHonors Bonus Points.

Funds donated will support the ongoing provision of immediate relief, including emergency shelter, healthcare, water, sanitation and tracing and restoring family links, and also towards eventual recovery support to the affected population.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of the Philippines, as well as their family and friends throughout the world who have been affected by this tragedy,” said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and chief executive officer, Hilton Worldwide. “We’ve already received an overwhelmingly positive response from our Hilton HHonors members and team members who want to help, and we thank them for their generosity.”
