Fertitta Acquires Casino Hotel in Biloxi

HOUSTON—Tilman J. Fertitta, sole owner, chairman and CEO of Landry’s, Inc., parent company of the Golden Nugget Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and Laughlin, announced that Fertitta Entertainment completed the acquisition of the Isle Casino in Biloxi.

“We’ve been looking to extend the Golden Nugget’s footprint to Biloxi for years and we’re excited to make major changes to the property and to the South, a personal interest of mine,” said Fertitta. “The Golden Nugget transformation will rejuvenate Biloxi, much as we have helped rejuvenate Downtown Las Vegas and most recently the Marina District in Atlantic City.”

The Golden Nugget Biloxi will serve as a resort destination in the South, offering guests 720 rooms and suites. Extensive transformational renovations to the Golden Nugget Biloxi will include a brand new, expanded casino floor, new bars, restaurants, retail offerings, a remodeled spa, and updated rooms and suites. For those who want to enjoy the outdoors, a H2O Resort Pool and Ultra Lounge will offer all season hot tubs and fire pits.

Three of Landry’s Inc’s established restaurant concepts will be included in the new building: Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.; Lillie’s Asian Cuisine, traditional and modern Chinese food; and Morton’s The Steakhouse.

The property will begin its unrivaled $100 million transformation in January, 2013. All improvements are expected to be completed by March, 2014.
