Doug Collins Lauches DC Hospitality

Industry veteran Doug Collins has launched DC Hospitality, a nationwide hotel brokerage firm handling all brands, all sizes, and all styles of properties.

“There are many attractive deals available today for buyers as well as sellers who are savvy and careful entrepreneurs,” explains Collins, who has bought and sold hundreds of hotels during his more than 30 years of hospitality experience. “Our style will be to evaluate opportunities aggressively, then pursue transactions conservatively and responsibly.”

Collins intends to fill a niche for personalized brokerage service.

“Clients don’t always need the largest or flashiest brokerage firm—they need the one that can provide the best results, quickly and at a fair price,” says Collins, who has been a hotel owner, developer, and franchisor. “We have the resources and the services of a larger firm, yet we deliver customized service without pushing assignments down to junior staffers.”

Most recently, Collins operated almost 300 properties under multiple brands as chairman and CEO of America’s Best Franchising from 1993 to January of this year. He previously served as president of Days Inn, with responsibility for more than 1,800 franchised properties as well as a portfolio of owned and managed hotels.

“The goal for buyers as well as sellers is to reduce risk and increase reward,” adds Collins. “Our job is to help every client find the proper balance of profitability for today and potential for the future.”

Joining Collins will be his son, Neil Collins, who has almost 20 years of experience in all phases of hotel operations, including sales, marketing, and marketing services while serving in senior management positions with America’s Best Franchising and Cornerstone Hospitality.

“Neil and I think like hotel owners because we have been hotel owners and developers,” Collins concludes. “We know how to craft deals that allow both sides in every transaction to win.”

The company is currently recruiting experienced and qualified brokers, with the expectation of opening offices in Washington, D.C., Chicago, Orlando, and either Houston or Dallas, Texas.
