DoubleTree Grows in Canada With Entry into Alberta

MCLEAN, Va.—Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton following a comprehensive multi-million dollar property-wide transformation of the former Mayfield Inn and Suites. The property is owned and managed by SilverBirch Hotels and Resorts.

“DoubleTree by Hilton has experienced tremendous growth in Canada in recent months, and the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton marks another great milestone as we debut the brand in Alberta,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton.

The hotel’s design features a color palate of gold, rich purples, reds, and neutral earth tones to emulate the region’s natural canvas. In a nod to the city’s urban edge, hotel décor is accentuated by metal and glass elements, including a steel sculpture in the lobby titled “Edmonton Summer Solstice”—a tribute to the longest day of the year in Edmonton. All artwork featured throughout the hotel further highlights the local landscapes and architecture of the city.

DoubleTree by Hilton West Edmonton features the SilverBirch Conference Center, offering 38,000 square feet of flexible meeting space with built-in technology. As part of the SilverBirch Conference Center experience, meeting attendees will enjoy the Connections Café, offering complimentary Wi-Fi, espresso machines, and an assortment of smoothie shots, fresh fruits and vegetables, pastries, and healthy treats. The conference facilities are comprised of two grand ballrooms and 15 meeting rooms, including seven soundproof rooms, suited to accommodate small meetings to training seminars and large scale events of up to 700 people.
