DoubleTree by Hilton Opens Second Hotel in Charleston Area

MCLEAN, Va.—DoubleTree by Hilton announced the opening of a newly renovated hotel near South Carolina’s Charleston International Airport. The 149-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport, formerly an exterior-corridor property, has been transformed into an upscale, full-service interior corridor hotel owned and operated by Homecourt Hospitality N. Charleston LLC under a franchise license agreement with a subsidiary of Hilton Worldwide.

The year-long renovation included all guestrooms and all public areas. The new accommodations are appointed with design cues hailed from both past and present decades with a subtle nod to Charleston’s heritage as prominent aeronautics center and home to a Boeing plant and Charleston Air Force base. Central to the hotel’s aeronautic theme is the new restaurant, Two Wrights, named for the pioneering Wright brothers.

“We couldn’t be more proud to be the third DoubleTree branded hotel in South Carolina,” said Josh Williams, who along with partner Joe Ross, developed the hotel. “We’ve watched the DoubleTree brand continue to gain market share over the last few years and appreciate the uniqueness the brand offers to owners. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the multitude of people who have worked extremely hard to bring this vision to reality.”

The rooms and suites at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport feature the Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree sleep experience beds; Wolfgang Puck, in-room, gourmet coffee and tea service; and CITRON by Crabtree & Evelyn bath and body products. Each room has a 42-inch, high-definition, LED TV; MP3-compatible alarm clock and in-room laptop safe. Complimentary wireless high-speed internet access is available throughout the hotel with remote guestroom printing.

The hotel also offers a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle, business center, and fitness center, and pool, and features more than 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
