DoubleTree by Hilton Opens in Richmond Suburb

RICHMOND, Va.—DoubleTree by Hilton and Shamin Hotels announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian, a hotel situated just a short drive from downtown Richmond. The building, formerly the Holiday Inn Koger Conference Center, is nearing the completion of a $6.5 million renovation that includes upgrades throughout the hotel’s public spaces and guestrooms by the end of 2013. Both the hotel and conference center are owned and managed by Shamin Hotels Inc.

The hotel unveils a redesigned lobby featuring a waterfall as a focal point, and also includes paintings and photography of the Richmond area. The property offers over 26,000 square feet of flexible meeting space that includes 19 total meeting rooms – the largest of which is 7,080 square feet – all equipped with the audio-visual capabilities. The attached conference center offers a variety of exhibit and gathering areas, including two ballrooms that, together, can comfortably seat up to 1,100 people.

“This hotel’s prime location, expansive event space, and modern accommodations truly set it apart from any other property in this market,” said John Greenleaf, global head – DoubleTree by Hilton. “The DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond – Midlothian is poised to become the leading hotel option for guests seeking upscale, full-service services and amenities in this area.”

The hotel offers ample free parking for guests and complimentary shuttle service to Stony Point Fashion Mall, or any destination within a five mile radius of the property. Additional hotel amenities include an indoor pool, 24-hour complimentary fitness center, which will open by the end of the year, a 24-hour complimentary business center, and complimentary high speed Wi-Fi internet access in all guestrooms and public areas.
