Meet Roger: NYC Hotel Gets New Identity
There's a hip, new lodging property creating buzz on the New York hotel scene—and it goes by the name Roger.
Roger New York, located in the city's NoMad district, is the new rendition of what was the Hotel Roger Williams. The property recently unveiled its new identity and showed off brand new guestrooms and public spaces. The renovation and rebranding is meant signify the concept of a father passing on the reins to his son, who takes a fresh, sophisticated, and younger approach to the family business.
In an announcement, John Flannigan, president of JRK Hotel Group, said, "The Roger has always been a haven for travelers seeking sophisticated accessibility and this redesign is part of our continual evolvement in providing the perfect mix of modern amenities in a warm environment."
JRK Hotel Group assembled a group of well-known and respected designers to complete the project. Steven Kamali led the project and worked with a team consisting of designers Anna Busta and Annette Jaffe to rebrand and redesign the hotel.
Busta was commissioned to redesign the lounge and dining components of the property. In the lobby, she warmed up the space with a rich palette of jewel tones across plush seating vignettes, repurposed brick, vintage photography, antique chandeliers, modern deco accents, and a rounded bar.
Guestrooms were designed by Annette Jaffe, who used a navy tones to create a sophisticated feel and added suede headboards, geometric curtains, and custom artwork to update spaces.
The Roger is also unveiling the new Parlour Lounge & Restaurant this week, which will serve hand-crafted cocktails by mixologist Johnny Swet and a menu by acclaimed chef Julie Farias.
This new incarnation of the property fits right in with its neighboring properties, the NoMad and Gansevoort. We're definitely digging the new look!
