Four Seasons Houston Marks 30th Anniversary
The Four Seasons Houston is celebrating a milestone in its hotel history by marking three decades of service since opening its doors in April of 1982.
And a whole lot can change in 30 years.
At the time of opening, the hotel was located in an isolated area of eastern, downtown Houston. Now the location is bustling with retail shops, restaurants, office space, and residential properties.
To commemorate the anniversary, the Lamar Street property, which recently underwent a $25 million renovation project, welcomed the founder of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts Isadore Sharp to the property for a small celebration ceremony.
Sharp spent visit walking through the different departments getting to know his employees. Sharp even recognized several people who have been with the hotel from the very beginning.
In an announcement, General Manager Dirk Burghartz, recognized the loyalty of the Houston staff members. He said, "Seven employees have been with us for thirty years and dozens more between fifteen, twenty and twenty five years. It is their dedication, intuitive service, love of people and of Houston that has allowed the Hotel to stay successful all these years."
