Langham Hospitality Group Launches Program for Chinese Group Travelers
 Over the past few years, several big-brand hotel companies have launched special programs to cater specifically to Chinese guests. Hilton launched Huanying in 2011 and Marriott rolled out its Li-Yu program last year. Both programs offer tailored services and special amenities to make Chinese guests feel more welcome.
And now, Langham Hospitality Group is getting on board with a program designed for Chinese group travelers called Ying. It will provide guests from mainland China with an effortless experience through a series of four well-defined approaches: Ying Specialties; Ying Welcome; Ying In-room; and Ying Cuisine.
As part of Ying Specialties, the program will offer assistance to Chinese travelers before and during their stay. This could include quoting prices local currency or Chinese renminbi or contracts being presented in simplified Chinese. Ying Welcome offers guests local information written in simplified Chinese, directions to the nearest Chinatown, and Mandarin speaking colleagues to assist with translations and facilitate transport. Food is also a big part of the program and through Ying Cuisine, the hotels will offer traditional Chinese foods such as dim sum, congee, and noodles prepared by experienced chefs. The last component, Ying In-room, provides guests with a selection of tea, Chinese-language television channels, and Chinese-language newspaper titles in guestrooms.
Simon Manning, vice president - sales and marketing for Langham Hospitality Group said, "In Chinese culture, 'Ying' is an auspicious word meaning 'abundance.' Therefore, it's only appropriate that the new program is specialy designed to provide Chinese guests with an abundance of home comforts during their stay."
