Hotel Union Square Debuts Dugout Suite
Since I've lived in the City of Brotherly Love for over six years now, I would consider myself a staunch Phillies fan. But, let's face it, the Fightin' Phils are doing pretty much bupkis with their season this year and their chance of a comeback seems unlikely. So, come playoff time, I might have to change my allegiance and support the San Francisco Giants (I know—blasphemy!) due to the team's current second-place standing in the NL West and my inexplicable crush on pitcher Tim Lincecum.
And for all the Giants fans out there, the Hotel Union Square in the Golden Gate city has designed a special suite that is sure to help you root, root, root for the home team.
Personality Hotels, in conjunction with Vida Blue, former Giants pitcher, Cy Young award winner and six-time all-star, have launched the Dugout Suite in the Powell Street property. This corner suite is decked out with a Giants bean bag chair, custom designed Brian-Wilson-inspired “Fear the Beard” window shades, a canvas autographed by Vida Blue, photos of the Giants ballpark, team flags and pennants, and even Giants bedding.
Of course, the suite also contains a large flat-screen television, so fans who can't make it to the ballpark can still watch the big game.
In an announcement, Blue said, "“I am thrilled to partner with Personality Hotels to open the Dugout Suite at Hotel Union Square. If you love the San Francisco Giants, you‘ll love this suite. It’s the ultimate fan experience!”
Guests of the Dugout Suite will be treated to four complimentary tickets to a tour of Anchor Brewing Company in the city and have the option of purchasing custom-designed "I have a Giant Personality" t-shirts. The suite is also stocked with classic game-day snacks such as Cracker Jacks, peanuts, and soda which are available for purchase.
The Dugout Suite sleeps two people and rates start at $325 per night.
