Robert Allen Contract Debuts Beverly Boulevard Textile Collection

5/18/2012 | The Scene
We recently returned from HD Expo in Las Vegas, and have to say that it was quite an impressive show. And while there were plenty of innovative and drool-worthy designs to admire from some of the leading hospitality vendors, we were pretty blown away by the new Kirk Nix-designed textile collection for Robert Allen Contract.

The Beverly Boulevard collection is a rich and luxurious collection of fabrics that play with texture, color, and pattern. Nix, principal of KNA Design Studio, is well known in the world of hospitality design—he's worked on such properties as the Venetian Casino Hotel & Resort in Las Vegas, the Shangri-La Hotel in Macau, China, and Leela Palace in New Delhi, India—and used inspiration from his career to create this line of materials.

"Before designing this collection, I let my imagination run wild," said Nix in an announcement. "Every property is rich with stories untold. I wanted to create a collection that would evoke those feelings of luxury, privacy and fun."

The collection also ties into the themes of luxury and celebrity with names such as "No Photos Please," "Rockstar," and "Guest List." Nix looked at everything from reptile skins and ancient Japanese Kimonos to the infinite revolution of time and the digital versus the real as muses for his designs.

Beverly Boulevard features lush jewel tone velvets, imaginative metallic accents, and geometric motifs that were drawn from the KNA Design Studio inspiration boards.

“We are thrilled to bring such a talent into the Robert Allen Contract brand of guest designers,” remarked Robert Allen Design Group CEO Philip Kowalczyk. “The luxury and creativity Nix brings to this collaboration is beyond compare, and we look forward to seeing huge success for this collection.”
