The Red Lion Inn Announces 17-room Property Expansion

STOCKBRIDGE, Mass.—The Red Lion Inn announced that it is adding another guesthouse to its collection of guestrooms and suites. Maple Glen, scheduled to open July of this year, will bring the Inn's capacity up to 125 rooms.
"We've had our eye on the property for years now and when it came on the market, we saw an excellent opportunity to not only expand the number of sleeping rooms at the Inn, but also to diversify the ambiance and amenities available for our guests," said Red Lion Inn General Manager Bruce Finn, in an announcement. "Maple Glen represents the first addition of rooms in the Berkshires in the four years since the recession, and we are excited to be leading the recovery of the hospitality market in our area."
Maple Glen is located just a few doors down from the Main Inn, and will offer 17 new rooms. The expansion includes a renovation of the 2,685-square foot 2.5 story Greek Revival residence, built circa 1850. The project includes restoration of period details and an expansion of nearly 3,600 square feet to include 3 double queen-bedded rooms, 2 double queen-bedded suites, 12 king-bedded rooms, and a meeting space. Maple Glen will be the largest of the 9 guest houses on the property.
Rooms in the new guesthouse will feature padded fabric headboards, antique bureaus, an installation of vintage TV lamps, and a mix of needlepoint samplers, paint-by-numbers, family portraits, and abstract art, all accented by brightly painted walls and hardwood floors.
Red Lion Inn owner Nancy Fitzpatrick was inspired by the families who lived in the former residence and what home furnishings they may have collected or created over the generations. Every Maple Glen room includes flat-screen televisions, custom desks with high-speed internet connection, and mini-fridges. READER COMMENTS
