The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts Debuts in Poland

2/11/2013
WARSAW, Poland—Following a multi-million dollar renovation, Hotel Bristol in Warsaw joins The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts' ensemble. Owned by Starman Poland, Hotel Bristol, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Warsaw marks the luxury brand's first hotel in Poland.

"As The Luxury Collection portfolio continues to grow globally, we are thrilled to introduce the brand in Poland with the signing of the iconic Hotel Bristol," said Paul James, global brand leader, The Luxury Collection, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and W Hotels Worldwide. "A landmark in Warsaw since 1901, The Luxury Collection will celebrate the hotel's distinctive character, indigenous charm and the unparalleled service that allows our global guests to experience the city through a unique lens."

Situated next to the Presidential Palace and on the Royal Route, Hotel Bristol was founded in 1901 by Ignacy Paderewski - a renowned composer, piano virtuoso and former Polish Prime Minister. The hotel features 168 guestrooms and 38 suites that are designed with ivory and blue colors, contrasting charcoal and ebony furnishings, Art Deco accents, and bevelled mirrors.

The hotel interiors were created by London-based hotel designer, Anita Rosato, to recapture its history with subtle references to the aesthetics of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Rosato worked closely with the city's Architectural Conservator during the renovation of the 110-year-old hotel to ensure that Hotel Bristol's historical charm is preserved.

The lobby decor features deep-buttoned armchairs and marbled walls with antiqued mirrors in brass frames. With the restored chandelier illuminating the grand floral display of palm trees and freshly cut blooms, the lobby is a re-interpretation of the original winter garden by Otto Wagner the Younger, the hotel's first interior designer.

The hotel features a several food and beverage concepts including Advinture, a new wine bar; the Column Bar, a bar featuring signature cocktails; Marconi Restaurant, offering Polish and Mediterranean cuisine; and Café Bristol, which offers freshly brewed coffee, traditional dishes, and patisserie.

Starwood currently operates six hotels in Poland under the company's Sheraton, Westin and The Luxury Collection brands, including three in the dynamic city of Warsaw.
