Starwood Hotels & Resorts Debuts Sheraton Jiaozhou Hotel
STAMFORD, Conn.—Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the opening of the Sheraton Jiaozhou Hotel, the first Sheraton branded hotel, as well as the first hotel managed by Starwood Hotels & Resorts, in the new district of Jiaozhou, near Qingdao city in Shandong province. Owned by Qingdao Greentown Jiaozhou Bay Real Estate Development Company, the hotel is part of Starwood’s expansion plan in second and third tier cities across China. READER COMMENTS
“Sheraton debuted in Beijing as the first international brand hotel in China and we are very excited that Sheraton Jiaozhou Hotel is the first international brand hotel in Jiaozhou,” said Hoyt Harper, Global Brand Leader for Sheraton Hotels, in an announcement. “Sheraton’s impressive global pipeline is being fueled by phenomenal demand in China with 12 new Sheraton hotels slated to open across this fast-growing market by year’s end driven by strong demand in second and third tier cities.”
Sheraton Jiaozhou Hotel contains 270 guestooms, including 31 suites. Each room offers a flat screen LCD TV and work area. The hotel lobby includes the brand’s Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft, with access to information and technology for work, leisure, and social networking.
The hotel also features the newly launched Sheraton Fitness programmed by Core Performance, the Shine Spa for Sheraton, and the Sheraton Club on the 25th floor.
Additionally, Sheraton Jiaozhou Hotel is equipped for meetings, banquets, and events.
