CALI, Colombia—Marriott Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open a new 170-room Marriott Hotel in Cali in 2014, under an agreement with Real Hotels and Resorts, S.A. and Grupo Poma. Situated in Colonia Granada, the Marriott Cali Hotel will be located in one of Cali’s most desirable areas filled with restaurants, bars, and shops.

“We are very excited about consolidating our relationship with Marriott by bringing the Marriott brand to Cali and strengthening Marriott’s position in Colombia. With the success of the Marriott Hotel in Bogota, we are confident that this hotel will be highly successful, and play a large role in the continued emergence of Colombia,” Fernando Poma, president of Real Hotels & Resorts, said in an announcement.

“We are fortunate to have great partners in Colombia, with whom we continue to grow many successful hotels within the market and across Latin America” added Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief development officer for Marriott International Inc. in the Caribbean and Latin America. “Cali is a wonderful Latin American destination and Colonia Granada is an ideal location for our new Marriott Cali Hotel.”

In addition to 170 guestrooms and suites, the hotel will feature a casual dining restaurant, a sushi bar, and a great room.
