Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group opens its first hotel in Chongqing, China

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced the opening of Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing. This is the first Radisson Blu hotel to be established in Chongqing, an emerging city with a population of over 32 million. With the addition of Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing, Carlson Rezidor will have 80 operating hotels and another 76 under development in Asia Pacific.
“The opening of Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing marks the steady growth of the Radisson Blu brand and Carlson Rezidor’s presence in China. With a total of 16 scheduled hotels openings for 2012 in Asia Pacific, we are well on track with our growth strategy to strengthen our portfolio in this fast growing region,” says Simon C. Barlow, president, Asia Pacific, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, in an announcement.
Radisson Blu Plaza Chongqing has 308 rooms and suites that offer views of the city and the Yangtze River. The hotel has extensive meetings facilities, including a pillar-less Grand Ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 people, conference rooms, and a conference center. Recreational facilities include a fitness center, a yoga room, and a heated indoor swimming pool. The hotel’s food and beverage options include Shiki Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Bin 22 lobby lounge, River Café all-day dining restaurant, and Ya Yuan Chinese restaurant.

We are confident that under their management, the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Chongqing will be a success,” said Paul S.P.
