Aimbridge Hospitality to Rebrand and Manage Additional Resort in Jamaica

7/25/2012
DALLAS, Texas—Aimbridge Hospitality has announced that it has been chosen to rebrand and manage the former Breezes Runaway Bay Resort and Golf Club as Jewel Runaway Bay Beach and Golf Resort. The property, acquired from SuperClubs by Sagicor Life Jamaica, joins the flagship Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort and Spa in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and the San Juan Water and Beach Club, located in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico under the Aimbridge resort Division. Jewel Runaway Bay is the second hotel under the Jewel Resorts brand.

“The addition of another property to the Jewel Resorts brand strengthens our presence in the Caribbean resort market,” said Dave Johnson, president and CEO of Aimbridge Hospitality, in an announcement. “We look forward to converting the Breezes Runaway Bay Resort into a four-star family-friendly resort.”

The all-inclusive resort features 266-rooms and suites. Some rooms and suites feature private balconies or plunge pools. The Jewel Runaway Bay Golf and Beach Resort has three freshwater pools, including a beachfront infinity edge pool with a swim-up bar; a Radiant Spa; four tennis courts; a game room with ping pong and pool tables; a fitness center with equipment and aerobics classes; meeting space for up to 200 people; a water sports operation center that offers snorkeling, ski boats, windsurfing and kayaking; and PGA-rated 18-hole, par 72 Jewel Golf Course.
