Make Art While You Sleep at ibis Hotels
 We have covered a whole lot of topics relating to hotel technology and hotel art, but this is the first time we get to put the two together and throw a robot into the mix as well.
Accor's ibis hotel brand, a budget-friendly concept with primary locations in Europe, has launched an innovative new concept called Sleep Art. This is an experience where guests sleep on a special mattress that contains 80 sensors to track movement, sound, and temperature while you sleep. Those sensors then relay signals to a robot in a remote location that uses your sleep patterns to create a unique piece of art.
The paint brush-wielding robot is housed at a location in Paris, and the signals from the mattresses are fed to it wirelessly.
It looks like ibis is primarily using this concept as a marketing and promotional tool and will be offering 40 people the chance to "have their nights converted into works of art" at the brand's locations in Paris, London, and Berlin. The robot kicks into gear on October 13 and the promotion will run through the month of November. The paintings will be displayed in an online gallery and participants will be able to take home their original piece of sleep art when the project wraps.
